Highly recommend folks to apply, if they haven’t already. Please note that you have to submit both a press accreditation application and the PII application to be considered. Full press release below:
==============================================================
The 2026 Sundance Film Festival is taking place January 22-February 1 in Park City and Salt Lake City, Utah, with a selection of films playing online from January 29 – February 1. The Press Inclusion Initiative, our effort to support an abundant press community at the Sundance Film Festival, is returning this year to provide unrestricted stipends and a press credential to a cohort of media including those who identify as BIPOC, women, LGBTQ+, and/or people with disabilities seeking to cover the Festival.
For press eligible and interested, please fill out this form for the Press Inclusion Initiative. After you have submitted the form, we will send you a personalized link to apply for accreditation to the 2026 Festival. Both applications must be completed and submitted by August 18th at 3 p.m. PT / 6 p.m. ET to be considered for a Press Inclusion Initiative stipend. Any incomplete applications will not be considered.
Standard Press Accreditation Applications for only a credential to cover the 2026 Festival (January 22-February 1, 2026 in Park City and Salt Lake City, Utah) without a stipend will open August 18th.
Any press not requesting to be considered for a Press Inclusion Initiative stipend should apply with us on or after August 18th for consideration to receive credentials. As in years past, we will have a limited number of credentials available and an especially limited number of online credentials.
Please note, if you are selected for the PII stipend your press accreditation has also been approved. If you are not selected for the PII stipend, please let us know if you’d still like to be considered for press accreditation and if you plan to attend in-person or online-only, since stipend allotment may impact your travel plans.
If you have any questions about PII or accreditation to cover the 2026 Sundance Film Festival, please reach out to: press@sundance.org
If you know colleagues who have not applied for the Initiative in the past who may be interested in covering the Festival this year, please encourage them to contact us at the above email.
Over the next couple of months, we’ll be sending additional details about accreditation, as well as general Festival updates via our news release list (you can subscribe here)– be sure to check out our most recent letter from Festival Director Eugene Hernandez for more.
